I had the absolute honor of photographing Sharyn and Reed’s 50th wedding anniversary celebration up in Lake Placid a few weekends ago. It was on a crisp, cloudy autumn day at the beginning of October that Sharyn and Reed renewed their vows after 50 years of marriage, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The family rented a beautiful home in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains to be together and celebrate in this incredibly joyous and emotional occasion. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when the bride and groom shared their vows again with one another. After their tear-jerking ceremony, their daughter Katie began a series of toasts to the happy couple, followed by dear friends Margie and Bill, and lastly, Sharyn and Reed’s son Jason. All in attendance, including daughter-in-law Rochelle and her and Jason’s two beautiful and sweet children, Madeleine and James (grandchildren of the celebrated couple), raised a glass and cheersed to this amazing 50-year milestone.
Following the lovely toasts, the family sat around to chat about the couple’s wedding day all those many years ago. The family and friends sat down to a home cooked meal prepared by two caterers who had come to the house. It smelled heavenly and I’m sure the meal was very delicious.
It’s not every day you get to celebrate such a wonderful time in two people’s lives, and I was so, so privileged to witness and document it all. Special thank you to Katie for putting it all together and having everything go off without a hitch. The family and friends came from far and wide to celebrate this day together and it was absolutely perfect. Huge congratulations to Sharyn and Reed!
Here are just a few sneak peeks from this special day. Enjoy!
