We just got back on Monday from an INCREDIBLE trip to sunny California for a family wedding. Not only was the scenery breathtaking, the weather perfect, and the tacos delicious, but my cousin’s wedding was probably the most fun I’ve ever had (and the most I’ve ever danced)! We flew into LAX, then made our way to Agoura Hills, visited the beautiful beach(es) of Malibu, and drank a ton of wine all weekend long. Moral of the story: we are moving to California right away.
Our first full day in California (Friday), Vin and I visited a privately owned garden called “Gardens of the World,” which was stunning. I took so, so many photographs as a result.
After the beautiful Gardens of the World walk, we hopped on over to a local brewery and had lunch. Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. had some yummy beers, as well as a delicious soft pretzel with beer cheese. Vin does not look happy in this photo, but I know he enjoyed the beer, too.
Friday night was the rehearsal dinner–which we were so grateful to have been invited to. I didn’t get a single photo that night, even though the restaurant was lovely and it was right on the water. Oops.
Saturday the whole family was finally in town and we went for a ride along the coastline. Our intention was to go for a small hike to Point Dume beach, but there was nowhere to park so we ventured to a different beach instead. It was still fantastic, with beautiful views of the ocean and Santa Monica.
Saturday night was the wedding at Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu. It was the perfect setting for an awesome celebration. We had SO much fun dancing and drinking and enjoying the picturesque views that surrounded us. (And a special shoutout and congratulations to Jon + Amanda on their nuptials)!
That about sums it up! We had so so so much fun in such a beautiful place! Thank you for having us, Jon & Amanda. It was a great excuse to make the trip out there!
